These HTTP proxies completed a TLS tunnel check to an HTTPS target and are often described as HTTPS or SSL proxies.

Keep the proxy URL on the http:// scheme and use an https:// target. cURL asks the proxy to create a CONNECT tunnel before negotiating TLS with the destination.

Strict means the certificate validated normally. Loose means the tunnel completed only when certificate validation was disabled. Loose is a diagnostic result, not a recommendation to disable TLS verification.

All four current products list HTTPS CONNECT. Choose between ISP, residential, hosting or carrier-network origin and the current minimum order. Your client still negotiates TLS with the target and must validate its certificate; a paid route does not turn a Loose certificate result into a safe production setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do Strict and Loose mean on the HTTPS proxy list?
Strict means the checker completed an HTTPS request with certificate validation enabled. Loose means the request completed only when validation was disabled. None means no tested HTTPS tunnel completed.
Are HTTPS proxies the same as SSL proxies?
The terms are commonly used for an HTTP proxy that can tunnel TLS traffic with CONNECT. The label describes the tested tunnel capability, not the identity or trustworthiness of the public proxy operator.
Should I disable certificate validation for a Loose result?
No for normal use. A Loose result is diagnostic evidence of a certificate problem. Disabling validation removes an important protection against interception and should not be treated as a production fix.
How often are HTTPS and SSL results checked?
Candidates are checked on a rolling five-minute schedule. Use each row’s Last Checked value because certificate and reachability results can change between sweeps.
Does an HTTPS tunnel make a free proxy safe?
No. TLS protects the connection to the target when validation succeeds, but the public relay can still log connection metadata, fail unpredictably, or expose other signals. Never use it for sensitive accounts or data.
Are these free proxies safe to use?
Do not assume a public proxy is safe. Its operator may inspect or log traffic, and a successful Databay check is not a security review. Use the list only for non-sensitive testing, never for credentials, personal data, payments, or private accounts.
How often is the list updated?
Candidates are checked on a rolling five-minute schedule. Use Last Checked for a specific result. Only endpoints with a successful check less than six hours old are published; older rows are excluded.
What is the difference between HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 proxies?
HTTP forwards plain web requests, while HTTPS-capable HTTP proxies relay TLS with CONNECT. SOCKS4 relays TCP. SOCKS5 can add authentication, remote DNS, and optional UDP support.

Why do some proxies stop working quickly?
Public endpoints can become overloaded, change configuration, or go offline without notice. A result only describes the latest successful check, so expect failures and use timeouts and retries for testing.
