Operating principle

Keep the saved proxy, profile assignment, browser location settings, and observed exit aligned for every authorized workspace.

What the GoLogin Proxy Integration Changes

GoLogin keeps browser profiles separate; a proxy determines the network route that one profile uses. The destination normally sees the proxy exit instead of the operator's direct public IP. That separation can support legitimate work such as checking an owned site's regional rendering, administering accounts a client has expressly delegated, or reproducing a connectivity report through a named network region.

A proxy changes one network signal. It does not create permission, prove that an operator is physically present in the exit location, supply a real local identity, or reproduce account, language, device, cookie, GPS, billing, and transaction state. It also does not make several profiles independent if the operator assigns them all the same route and then uses them contrary to a platform's rules.

This guide maps Databay's current gateway contract to GoLogin's official documentation reviewed on August 23, 2026. It does not claim that Databay launched a live GoLogin profile, tested the private dashboard, or measured destination success on that date. Interface labels can change; when the installed app differs, use the linked GoLogin source as the authority and revalidate one non-sensitive profile before a wider rollout.

Map Databay Values to GoLogin Fields

Copy the complete proxy credential from the Databay dashboard. Do not use the email and password for the Databay account login. The gateway hostname and port are shared, while the proxy username identifies the purchased network and any documented country or session controls.

Keep real credentials in a password manager or deployment secret store. A complete imported line can let another person consume traffic, so never place it in a screenshot, screen recording, CSV committed to source control, public proxy checker, analytics event, or ordinary support chat. Use placeholders in documentation and rotate a credential after any suspected disclosure.

Add One Databay Route From All Profiles

GoLogin's current Adding and managing proxies guide starts on All profiles. Find the target row's Location column, click the plus control, then select the computer icon for an external proxy. Enter the host, port, username, and password. GoLogin says it can detect HTTP or SOCKS from availability; confirm the selected protocol instead of treating detection as proof.

  1. Name the profile from its accountable owner and authorized purpose, not from an invented identity.
  2. Open Location and choose the external or “your proxy” path.
  3. Enter gw.databay.co, port 8888, and the complete dashboard username and password.
  4. Select HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS5 deliberately, then choose Connect.
  5. Wait for GoLogin's immediate check. Its green or red state is a point-in-time connection result.
  6. Save the assignment, launch the profile, and complete the independent verification below.

The same documentation also exposes a profile-settings route: open the row's three-dot menu, choose Settings, open Proxy, and select Your proxy. “Without proxy” is an explicit direct-route option; do not leave it selected accidentally in a regional test.

Import and Assign Routes in GoLogin Proxy Manager

For a reusable inventory, open Proxies from GoLogin's left sidebar. The official Proxies Page guide describes the table as a central list with name, state, connected profiles, notes, country, connection type, and editable host, port, login, and password fields. Use Add Proxy for one record or Import Proxies for a batch.

For bulk import, choose Import Proxies, paste one placeholder-shaped route per line, and select Import proxies. GoLogin documents several input layouts. Two clear Databay patterns are:

http://gw.databay.co:8888:DATABAY_USERNAME:DATABAY_PASSWORD:us-qa
socks5://DATABAY_USERNAME:DATABAY_PASSWORD@gw.databay.co:8888:us-qa

Do not publish completed versions. If a real credential contains a colon, at sign, bracket, or other delimiter that the parser treats specially, use dedicated fields or obtain a parser-compatible proxy credential through the approved support path; do not guess how the import parser encodes it. Do not add a change-IP URL unless the Databay dashboard explicitly supplies a compatible one.

After import, select the intended profiles and use the documented bulk action: choose Proxy, add or select the route, and apply the update. Verify the selection before applying it. Maintain a redacted ledger with profile label, owner, proxy record name, Databay session label, requested country, protocol, approval reference, and review date. The passwords belong in a separate secret system.

Choose HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5 Deliberately

GoLogin's official Proxy Protocols guide documents HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS4/SOCKS5 families. Databay publishes HTTP proxying, HTTPS CONNECT tunnelling, and SOCKS5 gateway access. For an ordinary browser profile, HTTP is a practical first configuration: HTTPS websites normally travel through an HTTP proxy tunnel while destination TLS remains end to end. Keep certificate validation enabled.

Choose SOCKS5 only when the GoLogin environment and approved workload require it and the selected mode has been tested. A protocol label does not guarantee that every application uses the proxy, that all DNS resolution follows the same route, or that UDP behavior is available end to end. GoLogin's troubleshooting documentation also notes that custom DNS support differs by proxy mode, so record DNS settings in any technical acceptance test.

The UI, general help, and individual API endpoints may use slightly different labels. GoLogin's current update-proxy API enumerates http and socks5 modes for the relevant external-proxy example. The API sample below therefore uses http; this still supports browsing HTTPS destinations through the proxy. Change it to socks5 only for a tested SOCKS5 route.

Request Location and Session Behavior in Databay

The proxy username selects the Databay network and its documented routing controls. Start with a base credential, prove that it authenticates, then add one control at a time. These are redacted patterns, not usable credentials:

USER-zone-residential
USER-zone-residential-countryCode-us
USER-zone-residential-countryCode-us-sessionId-gologin_qa_01

The country selector requests an exit in that pool and country, subject to live availability and geolocation estimates. It does not modify the GoLogin profile's language, cookies, account market, location permission, shipping address, tax status, or device. The session label requests temporary route continuity. It is not a permanent, exclusive, or dedicated IP and can end early if the upstream route disappears.

Choose Premium Residential when an authorized test genuinely requires an ISP-network sample or its finer location controls. Choose shared datacenter when the permitted workload accepts hosting-network origin and prioritizes throughput or traffic cost. Do not switch network classes or session labels to continue after a destination refusal. Read the static versus rotating guide before treating temporary continuity as fixed allocation.

Align Browser Location and Time Zone With the Test

GoLogin's current Profile settings documentation says that Fill timezone based on the external IP is enabled by default and that its geolocation setting can fill coordinates from the external IP. It documents Prompt, Allow, and Block choices for browser geolocation permission. These controls remain separate from the proxy.

For an authorized regional QA profile, leave the IP-based time-zone and geolocation defaults in place unless the test specification names another setting. Record the chosen location permission, timezone mode, language, operating-system profile, browser version, account state, and cookies. Automatic consistency is a configuration convenience, not proof of physical location or a license to impersonate a user.

If the test requires a precise delivery address, GPS position, device locale, or account market, control that input through the service's supported interface and written scope. Do not use proxy and profile settings to make a false eligibility claim. If GoLogin reports a country that differs from the proxy observation, stop and inspect the route and profile settings rather than cycling exits until a preferred label appears.

Verify the Exit at Three Layers

First, use GoLogin's proxy check. A green result establishes that its checker could reach the submitted proxy at that moment; a red result requires diagnosis. Second, confirm that the checked proxy record is actually assigned to the target profile. A working Proxy Manager row does not affect a profile using a different record or the direct route.

Third, launch the profile and open Databay's What Is My IP page through that browser. Record the observed exit, address family, country or region estimate, ASN when available, profile label, requested route, protocol, and UTC time. Do not expect gw.databay.co to be the displayed address: it is the entry gateway, while the checker sees the selected exit.

For a sticky workflow, repeat the observation at meaningful checkpoints and record any early change. Then use one non-sensitive endpoint you own or are authorized to test to validate the actual application result. An IP check cannot establish target acceptance or future supply. If the direct address appears, the country is wrong, or the profile changes exit unexpectedly, stop before signing in and correct the configuration. The proxy checker can provide an additional point-in-time endpoint diagnostic.

Update an Existing GoLogin Proxy With the API

GoLogin's official Update proxy endpoint uses PUT /proxy/{id} with bearer authorization. Its body includes mode, host, port, username, password, optional name, notes, and change-IP URL. Run this only in a trusted server-side environment. Never ship the API token or proxy password to browser JavaScript.

This Node.js example reads every secret from environment variables, URL-encodes the path ID, sends no invented change-IP URL, and deliberately avoids logging the response body because the documented response schema can include proxy credentials:

const required = [
  'GOLOGIN_API_TOKEN',
  'GOLOGIN_PROXY_ID',
  'DATABAY_PROXY_USER',
  'DATABAY_PROXY_PASS',
];

for (const key of required) {
  if (!process.env[key]) throw new Error(`Missing ${key}`);
}

const proxyId = process.env.GOLOGIN_PROXY_ID;
const response = await fetch(
  `https://api.gologin.com/proxy/${encodeURIComponent(proxyId)}`,
  {
    method: 'PUT',
    headers: {
      Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.GOLOGIN_API_TOKEN}`,
      'Content-Type': 'application/json',
    },
    body: JSON.stringify({
      mode: 'http',
      host: 'gw.databay.co',
      port: 8888,
      username: process.env.DATABAY_PROXY_USER,
      password: process.env.DATABAY_PROXY_PASS,
      customName: 'databay-us-qa',
      notes: 'Authorized regional QA route',
    }),
  },
);

if (!response.ok) {
  throw new Error(`GoLogin proxy update failed (${response.status})`);
}

console.log({ proxyId, status: response.status });

The environment variables must come from the deployment platform's secret manager, not a committed .env file. Restrict the GoLogin token to the required environment and operator, rotate it after exposure, and keep application logs from serializing request headers, JSON bodies, fetch options, or error objects that contain them. Updating a proxy object is not proof that the correct profile uses it; apply the assignment through GoLogin's documented profile workflow and repeat the three-layer verification.

Troubleshoot GoLogin Proxy Errors by Layer

GoLogin's current Proxy Error guide distinguishes timeout, non-response, 407 authentication, access, SOCKS handshake, and certificate failures. Preserve the exact error and change one variable at a time.

GoLogin proxy troubleshooting matrix
EvidenceLikely layerSafe next check
407 Proxy Authentication RequiredMissing, wrong, truncated, or misparsed proxy credentialRe-copy the complete dashboard username and password into dedicated fields
Timeout or server does not respondGateway reachability, local firewall, network, service, or balanceTest the same credential once with the cURL integration and a benign endpoint
SOCKS handshake failureProtocol mismatch or unsupported client pathConfirm GoLogin and Databay modes match; do not change destination state
Check passes, launched profile is directWrong assignment, unsaved edit, or direct-route selectionStop, reassign, save, relaunch, and verify again
Location or timezone differsRequested route, live supply, lookup disagreement, or profile auto-settingCompare the observed exit and documented profile controls
Only the destination returns 401, 403, 429, or a challengeDestination permission, account, quota, or policyStop and use its official API, support, review, export, or written-authorization path

Do not paste a real authenticated line into a public checker or ticket. If verified support requires sensitive values, use the vendor's authenticated secure channel, disclose the minimum necessary, and rotate the credential afterward. A VPN or another proxy is not a remedy for a destination denial.

Production Handoff and Authorized-Use Boundary

  1. Record the profile owner, approved accounts, destinations, purpose, countries, duration, and stop conditions.
  2. Copy the current Databay host, port, proxy username, and password from the dashboard into a secret-controlled workflow.
  3. Choose HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS5 from the real client requirement.
  4. Create one Proxy Manager record per materially different network, location, or session policy.
  5. Assign records deterministically; verify the selected profiles before any bulk action.
  6. Keep GoLogin timezone and geolocation settings consistent with the written test, not an invented persona.
  7. Run GoLogin's proxy check, confirm assignment, then verify inside the launched profile.
  8. Store only redacted evidence and keep imports, API tokens, and proxy passwords out of source control.
  9. Stop on a CAPTCHA, restriction, rate limit, account warning, or authorization change.
  10. Recheck after credential rotation, route edits, GoLogin updates, network changes, or a new test scope.

Use GoLogin and Databay only for systems, data, and accounts you own or are expressly authorized to operate. Profile isolation and a regional exit do not authorize account farming, deceptive engagement, false eligibility, impersonation, spam, collection that the source prohibits, or bypassing a security control. Prefer official APIs, delegated account roles, previews, sandboxes, exports, and allowlists when they meet the requirement.

Review Databay's Acceptable Use Policy before rollout. Apply multifactor authentication, least-privilege workspace access, named profile ownership, a total source-level request budget, evidence retention, offboarding, and credential rotation. The correct integration is traceable, purpose-limited, independently verifiable, and easy to disable when authorization ends.

Questions specific to GoLogin

What GoLogin proxy values should I use for Databay?
Use gw.databay.co as the host, 8888 as the port, and the complete proxy username and proxy password from the Databay dashboard. Select HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS5 to match the configured route; do not use the Databay account-login password.
Can GoLogin import several Databay proxies at once?
Yes. Open Proxies, choose Import Proxies, paste one supported proxy line per row, and import. With Databay, rows can use the same gateway while carrying different documented country or session controls in their usernames. Protect the completed import as a secret.
Should I use HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5 in GoLogin?
HTTP is a practical browser default and can tunnel HTTPS destinations while destination TLS remains enabled. Choose SOCKS5 only when the tested workflow requires it. Confirm the mode selected by GoLogin instead of relying only on automatic detection.
Should GoLogin timezone and geolocation follow the proxy?
GoLogin enables IP-based timezone and geolocation filling by default. Leave those controls aligned for an authorized regional QA test unless its written specification requires another state. They do not prove physical presence or create a local identity.
How do I verify that a GoLogin profile is using Databay?
Check the proxy in GoLogin, confirm the checked record is assigned to the profile, launch it, then observe the exit and country at /what-is-my-ip. Repeat during a continuity-sensitive flow and stop if the direct address or wrong route appears.
Can I update a GoLogin proxy through the API without exposing secrets?
Use the documented PUT /proxy/{id} endpoint from a trusted server, load the bearer token and proxy credentials from a secret manager, avoid logging request or response bodies, and verify the profile assignment after the update.
What does a GoLogin 407 proxy error mean?
It normally points to missing or incorrect proxy authentication. Re-copy the complete Databay proxy username and password into dedicated fields, confirm the protocol, and test one benign endpoint. Do not change identities or rotate after a destination control.
